William Thomas Cotton

William Thomas "Tom" Cotton, age 69 of Marion, OH passed away October 21, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. He was born December 7, 1956, to the late Daniel B and Lena (Lemaster) Cotton in Marion. Tom was married to the late Katherine "Kathy" Cox, who passed December 24, 2021.

Tom is survived by son Daniel Cotton, cousin Jack Smith, great friend and neighbor John Jones, several nieces and nephews, and stepbrother Robert "Bob" Hughes of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, stepbrother Jimmy Hughes, and stepsister Carolyn Gould.

Tom was a 1974 graduate of Elgin High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked in sales and was owner/operator of Quality Promotions involving karaoke. Tom was a member of Manna Ministries in Green Camp, OH and a member of American Legion Post #162 in Marion. He was a talented golfer and a devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his son.
