Shirley Jean Rine

Nov 2, 1961 — Oct 7, 2026

Marion, OH

Shirley Jean Allen (Rine), 64, went to be with our Lord on October 7, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with illness.

Born November 2, 1961, in Ohio to Elmer Walter Allen and Sylvia Mae Wells, Shirley was the youngest of nine children and attended Cardington-Lincoln High School. She was a beautiful, funny, and spirited woman—a true spitfire whose personality was unforgettable.

Shirley was a loving mother to Amy, Bradley, Bobbi Jo, and Kelly and a proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren. She found joy in music, fishing, nature, and her beautiful plants and flowers. Anyone who visited her home knew her love for gardening, and her love of native american culture. She also loved yard sales and finding forgotten treasures, always enjoying the chance to give something special a new life.

Some of her family's most treasured memories are quiet days spent together beside a running creek or waterfall, enjoying the beauty and peace of nature.

Shirley was always close to the Lord, and later in life found renewed faith and peace in Him. She is now reunited with those who went before her and resting in His care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Sylvia; her sister, Barbara Windell; and Andy Frazier.

A Celebration of Life will be held in May 2027, at Delaware State Park in Delaware, Ohio, with details to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shirley's memory to Ohio Domestic Violence Network, 175 E. Long St., Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43215, or Fostering Further, supporting youth in continued foster care: fosteringfurther.org.
