Sharon James

February 19, 1963 — June 16, 2025

Marion

Sharon James, born on February 19, 1963, in Kenton, Ohio, graced the world with her presence until her passing on June 16, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was a beacon of love and kindness, dedicating her life to the joys of family.

For eleven years, Sharon excelled as a manager at Certified Oil, a role that complemented her extensive history in sales. Her professional journey was marked by a relentless work ethic and a genuine passion for helping others, reflecting her caring nature. A graduate of Elgin High School, she furthered her education with business management courses at Tri Rivers, which equipped her with the skills that would serve her well throughout her career.

To those who had the privilege of knowing Sharon, she was undeniably a loving soul. Her warm-heartedness and selflessness defined her, as she often put the needs and happiness of others before her own. Her personality shone brightly through her hobbies, including sewing, reading, and sharing her life on social media. Sharon cherished the simple pleasures of life: cooking her beloved homemade chicken and noodles and crafting delightful pumpkin rolls. She also found great joy in traveling, particularly to Florida, Amish Country, and the familiar aisles of K-Mart.

As a devoted Granny, Sharon held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren: Rickila James, Caylohr Votaw, Alyssa James, Anabella Votaw, Westin Kokas, Rylin Loyer, Katera Loyer, Jozie Reynolds, and great grandbaby Raina James . Her love extended beyond blood, wrapping around many others who affectionately called her "Mom" and “Granny.”

Sharon leaves behind Rick James, with whom she shared marriage of 35 years. The familial bonds she nurtured further extend to her children, Tera (Shane Clark) James and Cody (Christina) James, and Harley (Oscar) Reynolds all of Marion. Additionally, she is remembered by her step-sisters: Tanja Auxier, Sharon Kay Sessler, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Though her father, Warren Sayre, her mother, Ruth Sayre, and her sister, Tamara Ray, step sister, Jackie Meade step-brothers Karmer Bowden, and David Bowden, have departed from this world, their memories remain alive within the hearts of those she leaves behind.
