Robert Charles Cramer unexpectedly entered a pain-free world on April 26, 2025, at his home in Marion, Ohio after spending several months battling heart issues. Bob was born December 1, 1946, in Galion, Ohio to parents Margaret (Bosh) Cramer and Charles Cramer. Most of Bob's life was spent in Iberia, Ohio and in Marion, Ohio. Bob graduated from Northmor High School in 1964. In June of 1968, Bob married Sandra Waters, and they enjoyed their lives as husband and wife for nearly 57 years.
Being the best dad and grandpa ever, Bob cherished his twin daughters Kim (Jason) Frank and Kerri (Stephen) Karrick and his grandchildren: Lauren Frank, Mara Frank, Stephanie (Damon) French, Joseph Karrick, and Andrew Karrick.
Bob was a loyal and trustworthy employee no matter where he worked. He spent 14 years as a cost accountant at HPM in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and in 1983, he spent one year as an assistant auditor at the Marion City Auditor's Office before he was elected as the Marion City Auditor beginning in 1984. Bob was respected by both Republicans and Democrats, as evidenced by the fact he was elected for six terms before retiring at the end of 2007.
Outside of work, Bob's favorite life activities included spending time with his family and going to all his kids' and grandkids' events and performances. Bob also totally loved his pets as well as all the birds and wildlife he fed in his backyard. No matter the weather, Bob took care of Mother Nature's creatures. Mowing his home's yard was another passion Bob will be remembered for...he was meticulous about it and quite proud.
Bob totally enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite teams. No matter how they were doing, Bob was a steadfast and loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Guardians, and the Cleveland Browns. He also loved watching golf tournaments on TV.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and one brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife, his two daughters and five grandchildren, as well as his sister Margaret "Peg" Cooperider, and his two brothers: Ronald (Marcia) Cramer and James (Debbie) Cramer, plus nieces and nephews.
It was Bob's personal preference that he would not have a funeral or calling hours. Affordable Cremation Services is handling final arrangements.
