Rita S Leubitz-Hypes

Rita S Leubitz-Hypes, age 72 of Marion, OH passed away June 14, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. She was born June 20, 1953, to the late Eli P and Rose S (Umansky) Leubitz in Akron, OH. Rita was married to the late Holt A Hypes.

Rita is survived by sons: Aaron Robbins, Marc (Haleigh) Hypes, step children: Nicole (Don) Hypes-Wright, Monica (Shilah) Hypes, and Ian (Desiree) Hypes, grandsons: Eli Hypes and Mason Hypes, and sister Marilyn George. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers: Joseph Leubitz and David Leubitz.

Rita graduated from Akron Firestone High School then earned a Bachelors degree in Home Economics from the Ohio State University. She worked as the Director of MAP, a pregnancy prevention program at the Marion Job and Family Services, and the RAHM program as well. Rita also worked at Verizon in Marion in Accounts Payable. She was very involved and a long time member of Temple Israel in Marion, a member of Junior Women's Guild and Artisans Temple Sisterhood. Rita enjoyed sewing, crafting, quilting (for Veterans as well), ceramics, volunteering, and loved dogs, having many throughout her life.
