Darlene Jeffries

Darlene Jeffries, 79, of Green Camp in Marion County passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, surrounded by family in her home. Darlene was born Rita Darlene Anderson on June 4, 1945, in Akron, Ohio to the late William E. and Jeanette (Hicks) Anderson. She is survived by her beloved brother Dr. William and Susan Anderson of Minnesota; three children, Tami J and Curtis Grey of Marion; Troy M Puckett of Green Camp and Lena Davis and Matt Cooper of Green Camp. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, April and Christopher Bowen, Tai Naylor and Bobbie Cunningham, Christina Crawford, Shai-Rae and Jason Hoover, Julie and Jeff Gilmore, Tiarra Covrett and Corey Shamblin, Ezrah Davis, and Christopher Davis; along with 9 great grandchildren.

Darlene loved to travel and explored much of the United States in her younger years with a fishing pole in her hand. She had an adventurous spirit and a love for the outdoors. Fishing was her favorite hobby but she was also a talented artist. She loved to cook and often made big meals for the whole family. She was sharp witted, knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to speak up. Family was her priority and she settled in the Marion area 40 years ago to care for her parents. She worked and then retired from Marion General Hospital where she gathered many dear friends. She spent her final years being spoiled by her family.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for family and friends will be held at the family home 3858 1/2 Green Camp Essex Rd. Marion, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Affordable Cremation and Funeral Services of Ohio is assisting with arrangements. The family requests contributions be made in lieu of flowers through Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio, 1701 Marion Williamsport Road, Marion, 43302.
