Richard William Oliver

Richard “Rick” William Oliver, 62, passed away January 2, 2026. Rick was born to Charles Oliver Jr. and Marilyn Joann (Wright) Shifflett August 16th, 1963, in Marion, Ohio. Rick is preceded in death by his mother.

Rick is survived by his father, Charles (Cheryl) Oliver Jr., step father Kenneth Shifflett, children, Douglas (Rebekah) Oliver, Matthew Oliver, and Adam (Nickie) Oliver; siblings, Leonard Oliver, Kevin (Krista) Oliver, Tim (Jodie) Oliver, Kim (Scott) Sargent; grandchildren, Lili, Chloe, Barrett, Gaige, Zoey, Evelyn, Ruby and Sophie; great-grandchildren, Weston and Bentley.

Rick was a graduate of Marion Harding High School, class of 82’. He worked as a machine operator for many years with Boise Cascade and Gaylord Container. In his spare time he enjoyed playing softball, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. Rick played Euchre most his life, always rooted for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 24, 2026, at Lee St. Presbyterian Church (455 Lee St. Marion, OH 43302) from 12-2pm, followed by a service at 2pm. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.cremationservicesofohio.com.
