Joseph A. Gribbin, age 83, passed away surrounded by family, June 30, 2025. Joe was born to the late John and Emma (Elder) Gribbin February 4th, 1942, in Utica New York. Joseph proposed to Johnis (Tyler) Gribbin, and they were united in marriage on January 20, 2018. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Gribbin.
Joseph is survived by loving wife, Johnis Gribbin; children, Claire Gribbin, John (Kim) Parren, Shawn Tyler, and LaToya (Shaun) McGary; brothers, Johnny (Angela) Gribbin and Steve (Cheri) Gribbin; childhood friend, Peter O’Brien; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that he deeply loved and adored.
Joe was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Mansfield, Ohio. He loved hosting Saturday night Bible studies, and was excited when learning the Scripture and studies for each new week. He owned his own printing business in his younger years, then went on to work at Ohio Bell, which eventually became Ameritech, from which he retired. Joe loved tinkering with electronics and loved operating his HAM radio. He was a member of the Lions Club.
Joe always had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed inventing things. He also worked for a short stint as the Salvation Army Treasurer. When he was younger, he and his brothers all had a part in building the new two-story garage that their father used as an engineering office.
The family will be receiving friends at True Faith COGIC at 599 E. Fairground St. Marion, OH 43302, from 11AM-12PM Wednesday July 16, 2025. There will be a Funeral service following the visiting hours at 12PM. Interment to take place at Marion Cemetery. The family would like memorials and donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
