John H. Wolford, age 63, passed away May 8, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. John was born to the late Helbert John Wolford and Julie Jean (Mead) Bentley on February 17, 1963, in Scioto County Ohio. John was preceded in death by his parents.
John is survived by children, Olivia (Brandon) Hackley, Megan Hawkins, Chassidy Wolford, Aaron (Faith) Hunt; grandchildren; Madon, Aiden, Baker, Ethan, Ka’Myri, and Laif. Though divorced, John shared a lifelong love and bond with Gretchen Wolford, who remained the love of his life.
John worked for many years in construction. He was a member of the Marion Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with family, always cracking a joke. He enjoyed going out and singing karaoke especially if he was the center of attention, playing cards and poker with his buddies, hunting, fishing and winning at the pay lakes, and watching the New England Patriots. John was very handy, could make just about anything with whatever was laying around the house; he painted & worked on his cars, loved riding his motorcycle. He loved listening to music even if the only thing you did was hear him sing. John never missed a chance to tease someone, tell a tall tale, or pull a prank just to get a laugh. He always wore a smile on his face and had a nickname for you. Dad’s favorite thing to always say to us to make us leave was, “Well girls, visiting hours are over”. Well dad you’re right they are finally over. We love you so much.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.affordablecremationservicesofohio.com.
