John Allen Baker, age 82, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born August 8, 1944, in Albion, Michigan, to the late Allen and Lucy (Collins) Baker.
John was a graduate of Waldo High School, Class of 1962, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He later worked as a correctional officer in Marion until his retirement.
John was a hard worker with a quiet nature, a good sense of humor, and a strength that carried him through life without complaint. He enjoyed playing golf, drawing, reading, and was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
John is survived by his children: Kyle (Jennifer) Conley of Panama City, FL, Sean (Kelsi) Baker of Marion, and Jordan (Danielle) Emans of Marion; grandchildren: Kylee Conley, Madison Conley, Aviana Baker-Woods, Emeri Baker-Woods, Mason Baker, and Amelia Baker; great-grandson Walker Breton; and sisters: Rena Born and Nancy Nicolosi.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Robin Baker, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage; his parents; and his brother, Craig Baker.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care John received.
John took great pride in his children and grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them. He will be remembered by his family for his quiet strength, hard work, sense of humor, and the many small moments that made him who he was.
