Jacquelyn “Jackie” Shorter-Riddle, age 84, passed away surrounded by family June 30, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Jackie was born to the late Evelyn Schoonover November 1, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri. Jackie married the love of her life William “Bill” Riddle; they met April 1980, their first date was September 3rd, and married September 3, 1989. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Patricia and Barbara.
Jackie is survived by husband, Bill Riddle, after sharing 46 years together; her children, Mark (Laura) Shorter, Kristi Hicks, Eric (Heather Moberly) Riddle, and Andrew (Trisha) Riddle; grandchildren Ryann Evelyn, Jacquelyn Brenna, Liam, and Dillon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jackie worked for many years as the executive secretary at Battelle Memorial Institute. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1959. Jackie was a member of the Central Ohio Rose Society and the Columbus Rose Club. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading books, and spending time with her family. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
Jackie and Bill enjoyed taking vacations to travel to different locations like all through the Wine Appalachian Country in California and northern California. Trips to North East Ohio and South Western Ohio. They both enjoyed these trips very much and were a highlight of their lives. Jackie was a tremendously loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Park of Roses. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.cremationservicesofohio.com.
