Edward A Gaines

Edward A Gaines was born March 8, 1945, at the family home place on Swauger Valley Road to the late Oliver and Dorothy (Newman) Gaines. 

Ed was a loving and wonderful father of his four children: Tina (Elvin) Collins of Wheelerburg, Pam (Glenn) Miller of Green Camp, Ed "Bub" (Tina) Gaines of Marion, and Peggy Daniel of Marion. The absolute joy of his life was his grandchildren: Joey, Tiffany, Judy, Anthony, Kim, Chris, Todd, Eric, Hollie, Kerrie, Justine, Terry, Preston, Katelyn, and Katie. His 28 great-grandkids were his babies. Ed is also survived by his sweet sister Violet Wheeler, sister-in-law Ginger Gaines, and Judy Bolter the love of his life.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Bill, Chuck, and Gary Gaines, and sisters: Donna Phipps, Thelma Winston, Ester Rodriguez, and Dorothy Marie Gaines.

Ed worked many years CNO and retired from Whitecker Tree Service. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, Ohio State football, playing his guitar, and playing poker with his family. Ed loved to watch his grandkids play and to take them Snipe Hunting. His sense of humor and the ability to tell stories will always be remembered. Ed loved his campground family at Hickory Grove.

The Funeral Service will be Thursday April 30, 2026, at Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St. Marion, OH 43302 from 3-5pm. A dinner will follow at Green Camp Township Complex, 2784 Prospect-Upper Sandusky Rd. S Marion, OH 43302.
