Clyde D Lowther Jr., age 79 of Ashley, OH passed away April 18, 2024, at home. He was born July 18, 1944, to the late Clyde D Lowther Sr. and Betty Jane Young Lowther in Ashley.
Clyde is survived by daughter Tammy (Ron Armstrong) Sech, daughter-in-law Betty Lowther, June McIntire’s son Wayne (Sandy Emmons), grandkids: Zack (Alexis McCarty) Lowther of Ashley, Justin (Jordon) Lowther of Sunbury, Christina Lowther of Ashley, Patrick (Caili) Sech of Marion, Jordan (Maddy Davenport) Sech of Ashey, and Tyler (Harley) Emmons of Columbus, ex-wife/friend Judy Foster, sisters: Mary K LaCross, Marquita Hines, and Melody Emmons, and brother Jeff Lowther, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandkids, extended family in TN, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy Lowther, daughter Tina Lowther, sisters: Chrystal Edington and Sondra Sparks, brothers-in-law: Rick Edington, Tom LaCross, Harley Hines, and Jerry Emmons, loving partner June McIntire, and precious dog Missy.
Clyde was a 1962 graduate of Elm Valley High School and served in the United States Army Reserves from 1966-1972 where he received the highest mark a soldier can receive: Expert Rifle with M-14. He retired in 2007 after working at Bryant’s Lumber Yard, building pole barns for Russ Knauber, refinished furniture for 13 years, drove Semi for Mitchell Brothers, Jim Hinkle, and Tom Dew, had a hardware store in Ashley, and worked for Village of Ashley for 4 years. He truly was a Jack of all trades.
Clyde enjoyed the fact he had driven Semi in 46 out of the lower 48 states. He liked fishing, mushroom hunting, mowing the yard, tinkering in the garage, and building things with wood. Clyde loved to have a beer with his buddies and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
