Cecil L. Kraner

Cecil Lamar Kraner, age 74, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 25th, 2026 on his family farm.

Born October 31, 1951 in Marion to the late Paul E and Dorothy (Whipp) Kraner, he graduated from River Valley High School in 1969. Cecil worked as a manager of the Maintenance Department at Container Recovery Corporation in Marion and finished his career at Honeywell in Groveport, Ohio. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting and puttering around the family farm. Cecil aka “Papa Cecil” enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Kaitlyn and Kenzington, acting as driving instructor and general advice giver. He started every day bright and early having breakfast with his best friend Dennis “Fieldsy” Fields and his wife Nancy.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Kraner, Brother Larry Kraner, and loving wife Kathy Kraner. 

He is survived by his children, Mary Lynn (Justin) Hage of Marion, Ohio, Beth Berry of San Diego, CA; step daughter, Miranda (Zach Bland) Langford; step son, Yuley Logsdon; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kenzington, Ren, and Kennon.

The family will be receiving friends Saturday, August 1st, from 1PM – 3PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 135 W. Main St., in Waldo with a brief family service following at the gravesite.
