Carl Douglas Montgomery, 89. With love and gratitude for the life he lived, our family shares the passing of Carl Douglas Montgomery, who went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, and steadfast Christian, Doug lived a life marked by faith, kindness, quiet strength, and service to others.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Doug proudly served as a Reservist in the United States Army. He made his home in Marion, Ohio, where he and his wife raised their children and built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Doug dedicated 40 years to BF Goodrich/Parker-Hannifin Stratoflex, where his commitment and steady leadership as Senior Plant Scheduler earned him the respect of many.

A man of deep faith, Doug was a devoted and active member of Marion First Church of the Nazarene, where he faithfully served for many years. After moving to Bucyrus in 2016, he continued his walk with the Lord through service and fellowship as a member of Bucyrus Nazarene Church. His love for God, his family, and his church community was evident in the way he lived each day. His wisdom, steady presence, and warm humor blessed everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, and a legacy of love that will be cherished for generations.

Doug is survived by his wife Roberta Joyce Montgomery, daughters Joy Edington, Jill (Jim) Zins, Dawn Cousins, and Donna Montgomery; grandchildren Stacey Edington, Aaron (Kathy) Edington, and Joshua (Courtney) Edington, Samantha Dybas, Kylie (Adam) Kraft, Natalie Cousins, and Ally, Jonathan (Allison) and Zach (Jessi) Zins; siblings Pat (Dick) Lewis, Sue Harruff, and Sally (Dwight) Harruff; great grandchildren Archer Edington, J. Duke & Isabelle Edington, Amelia Edington, and Jubilee, Gideon & Nicole and Clare Zins; and very dear friend Rick Gulley. Doug was preceded in death by his father Carl, his mother Ruth Montgomery, and son-in-law Tom Cousins.

A Celebration of Life in Doug’s honor will be held at Bucyrus Nazarene Church on Saturday August 23, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (1:00-2:00 p.m. Welcoming/Visitation; 2:00-3:00 Celebration of Life service). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bucyrus Nazarene Church or to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation."Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23.
