Arnold Lee Horlocker

Arnold “Lee” Horlocker, age 69 of Marion, OH passed away Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born July 14, 1957, to the late Norris D. and Ernestine (Varney) Horlocker.

Lee was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was a hardworking, artistic, independent man full of kindness. Lee faced many struggles throughout his life, including a long and difficult battle with addiction. While addiction affected many parts of his life and relationships, it was only one part of who he was. Lee was a son, brother, father, and grandfather, and his life included moments of love, kindness, compassion, and connection. His sisters remember him fondly for his kind heart and gentle spirit.

Lee was the biological father of four children. Although he was unable to raise them, later in life he had the opportunity to reconnect with his daughter, Christina. In the short time they had together, Christina was able to see a side of her father that meant so much to her. When she needed somewhere to go, Lee took her in, even while facing struggles of his own. He may not always have known how to show his feelings or put his own life together, but she knew he cared for her and her brothers in his own way. She is grateful for the opportunity to know her father for who he was, beyond the struggles he faced.

Lee is survived by his four children, Daren (Antonia) Evans of Marion, David Evans of Marion, Curtis Evans of Marion, and Christina (Cambray) Carwell of Mt. Gilead; and his grandchildren, Alan, Chanelle, Aidan, Sidnay, Gracie, and Jaylynn.

He is also survived by his stepmother, Clara Horlocker of Mount Gilead, a half-sister, Becky (Justin) Diamond of Prospect; stepbrothers, Jon Fraizer of Galion and Jerold Frazier of Marion; and stepsisters, Maxine Taylor of Stuart, Florida, Kathi (Rick) Chapman of Mount Vernon, and Stephanie (Keith) Thompson of Prospect.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne, Randy, Paul, and Edward Horlocker.

Lee’s story was complicated, and his struggles were real, but they do not define the entirety of who he was. He will be remembered for the relationships, moments of kindness, and love that were part of his life.

A private family memorial service will be held at Dayspring Wesleyan Church on Thursday, August 27th. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
