Anthony Ray Mosbarger, 46 of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18,
2024, at Marion General Hospital.
He was the son of Glen R and Tamera K Mosbarger. He is survived by both parents, a Maternal
grandfather, Donald D Walter and step grandmother, Patricia (Reid) Walter of Marysville, Ohio, a sister
Hillary (Mosbarger) Swartz, a niece Kylee A Swartz and nephew Gage A Swartz of Upper Sandusky,Ohio, a very special partner Roger O’Byrne of Dayton, TN, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Marilyn K (Kunert) Walter of Upper Sandusky,
Ohio and both paternal grandparents George and Ora (Brammer) Mosbarger of Marion, Ohio, an Aunt
Sheryel (Mosbarger) Deitsch of Guyton, GA, Sheryel’s spouse, Anthony’s uncle, Robert Deitsch of
Guyton GA, and two other uncles Darrel Mosbarger of Marion, Ohio and Marvin Mosbarger of Mt
Gilead, Ohio
Anthony graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1995. He went on to college and majored in
math, accounting, and business at Ohio State University, Marion Technical College and Owens
Community College in Findlay, Ohio. He loved math and was a math and calculus mentor at Owens. He
loved learning and I thought for years he was going to be a lifelong student, unfortunately, his
health had other ideas.
He was very passionate about N scale trains. He collected many engines, cars, tracks, and anything he
could find N scale related. He had huge plans to build a layout. He also loved his Lego sets. He only
purchased sets of 3000+ pieces. No set was too big. His collection of N scale and Lego is very inspiring.
Anthony was diagnosed with diabetes at the young age of 4. He was a very brittle diabetic and suffered
many health issues through the years. He was fortunate to have a two organ transplant (kidney and
pancreas) in April of 2011 at 33 years of age. His health was great for 9 years, probably the best years of his life.
Then both organs started failing, He was in a lot of pain most of the time, but he was always such a
fighter and never complained or felt sorry for himself.
Anthony was very funny, witty, loved to laugh and be surrounded by friends and family. He will be
greatly missed by all those people, whom he loved dearly. He is now in the arms of our Savior and will be
missed until we are all together again. Thank the good Lord for the years we had with him.
We are having a family and friends potluck to celebrate Tony’s life on May 11, 2024 at the Upper Sandusky Fairgrounds Dining Hall, from 1-4 pm.
At Tony’s request, he wanted his body cremated and placed on his grandmother’s (Marilyn Walter)
grave. They were the best of friends, she took him every where with her so he could turn pages for her
while she played the piano.
Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney foundation.
