Alice J Kendle

Alice J. “Joanne” Kendle, age 78, passed away at home May 28, 2024. Joanne was born to the late George and Lina (Bryant) Rutter September 16, 1945, in Westerville Ohio. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents and 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Joanne is survived by children, Scott (Billie) Hook, Steven (Tina) Hook, Stacy (Carla) Hook, Jennifer (Jamie) Thompson, Jamie (Rick) Kendle; stepdaughters, Beth Kallas and Corinna Kirkendoll; daughter-in-law Tina (Chester) Shuster; brother, George (Sue) Rutter; sisters-in-law: Donna Rutter, Shelia Rutter, and Lisa (Stacey) Gerken; 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joanne worked for many years in retail and as a hairdresser. She enjoyed simple things in life like doing crossword puzzles, being an avid reader, in her younger years she loved cooking. She enjoyed trips to Amish country, spending time with family and her grandkids, was quite the ornery jokester, she always brought a smile to our faces and will be deeply missed.

There will be a celebration of life service June 15, 2024. Memorials may be made to Marion Area Humane Society and Dog Pound. Moments of remembrance may be left online at cremationservicesofohio.com.
