He married Tammy McCumber on Nov. 1, 1980, she survives in Marion. Surviving is a son Shad Mattix and a daughter Heidi Mattix, 6 grandchildren, sisters Deborah (Clarence Atkinson) Mattix, Pamela (Thomas )Blankenship, Brenda (Randy) Clements, Lora (Darrin) Smith. He is preceded in death by a brother Garry Mattix. Mr. Mattix was a mechanic. His hobbies were working on cars, farming and working on computers. He was a loving husband, father and brother.
